Privacy policy

CompareFurnished is a price comparison site. We keep measurement boring and first-party. Here is the whole picture.
What we measure
We run our own measurement on our own domain. When you use the site we record: the pages you view, the page that referred you, your interactions with the product (searches, stay-length changes, sorts, filters, map use, comparisons, and which provider you click out to, including the price shown), your country as reported by our CDN, and whether you are on mobile or desktop. Each browser tab gets a random session id that exists only for that tab session; it identifies a visit, not a person.
What we do not collect
No names, no email addresses, no accounts. We do not store your IP address in our analytics. We set no analytics cookies and use no third-party analytics, advertising pixels, or social widgets. We do not track you across other sites, and we do not sell or share personal information (as those terms are defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act) because we do not hold any.
If we advertise
If we later add advertising measurement (for example, conversion reporting to an ad platform), we will describe it on this page before it ships.
When you click out
Clicking through to a provider takes you to their site, where their own privacy policy applies. We record that the click happened; what you do on their site is between you and them.
Preferences stored on your device
Your map spot, hidden providers, and the per-tab session id live in your browser's own storage, not on our servers. Clear them anytime in your browser settings. We set no analytics or advertising cookies, so "Do Not Track" and Global Privacy Control signals ask for a state we are already in.
Retention
Measurement events are retained for up to 13 months and then deleted or aggregated so they no longer describe a session.
Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the right to know, access, correct, and delete personal information, to opt out of its sale or sharing, to limit use of sensitive personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Here is how that maps to this site:
- Sale and sharing: we do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and have not in the preceding 12 months. That is why there is no "Do Not Sell or Share" link here.
- Sensitive personal information: we do not collect it.
- Categories collected: internet or other electronic network activity (the measurement described above), with a random per-tab session id. We hold no identifiers that connect a session to a person.
- Exercising your rights: email [email protected] with "Privacy request" in the subject line; you may use an authorized agent, and we respond within 45 days as the law requires. Because we hold no account or identity data, a request may need to include the session id from your browser for us to locate anything at all.
- Shine the Light (Civil Code § 1798.83): we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing.
Children
This site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
